ONE CITY. ONE PULSE.
In the organizer's words:
What if an entire city came together to make music?
At the conclusion of the Überschlag Festival, this question becomes a reality. ONE CITY. ONE PULSE. transforms Ballhofplatz into a massive urban rhythm ensemble.
Over the course of several days, festivalgoers will become part of the performance themselves.
With an open-air kit consisting of a simple percussion instrument and instructions, everyone gets their own voice within the collective piece.
A QR code takes participants to a video tutorial by Stomp percussionist Dominik Schad. Step by step, he explains the individual rhythmic elements and shows how each part contributes to the overall sound. This allows participants to practice and prepare for the piece at any time throughout the festival.
On Sunday afternoon, all participants will finally come together at Ballhofplatz. Together with professional musicians, hundreds of individual contributions will come together to form a large community piece—resulting not in an ordinary concert, but in a shared experience that blends performance, city festival, and musical utopia.
A concert that can only take place once.
And yet it continues to resonate within the people who created it together.
One City. One Pulse.
