NOA LAZAR-KEINAN: Bertold und Agnes

In the new three-part series, members of the Residenztheater ensemble read new plays from Israel. It starts with "Shura (שׁוּרָה). The Craft of Identifying Life" by Roee Joseph, from the Hebrew by Heiko Mönnich. The second play to be presented is "My Uncle" by Ariel Wolf. As part of the WELT/BÜHNE Festival, Noa Lazar-Keinan will present her play "Bertold and Agnes". Both plays were translated by Matthias Naumann.

About "Bertold and Agnes" by Noa Lazar-Keinan

Noa Lazar-Keinan 's talent lies in writing about ordinary people who face special challenges in life in strong dialogs. Her characters are so vivid that you feel you know them. She has already proven this in her comedy "Kurzschluss", which was a guest performance at WELT∕BÜHNE in 2023 and has found its way onto numerous German stages. In her play "Bertold and Agnes", she portrays a happy couple who have grown old together. But when they set off for a family reunion, it is revealed that Agnes is increasingly at home in her memories rather than in the present.
