Janeck, originally from Ukraine, has been blending electronic music with dance music traditions from Eastern Europe and beyond for more than two decades.
His sets range from organic house, leftfield electronics, Afro disco, Anatolian psychedelia, cumbia, and surprising new musical discoveries. Whether performing solo or with Oriental Tropical, Janeck creates musical journeys that are melodic, playful, and deeply danceable all at once.
Long before sounds from Eastern Europe became a broader trend, Janeck curated the “Balkan Beats” series at Schlachthof Wiesbaden with La Bolschevita, thereby introducing a new generation of dance music from the region to a Western European audience.
