We invite you to a concert featuring Camila Arriva and her project MUJERES at LeLaVie in Jungbusch.
¡Vivan las mujeres! The Camila Arriva Grupo’s performance is “all about women.” With their reinterpreted tango compositions, the five Argentine female musicians challenge traditional gender roles. This is not about the traditional image of women in classic tangos; here, women alone take on the seductive dance.

MUJERES is a tango quintet founded by its singer, Camila Arriva, that challenges traditional gender roles within the genre: women
performing music composed by women. With a contemporary sound and a strong artistic identity, the project gives tango new meaning from a collective perspective and offers an experience that invites both dancing and attentive listening in the concert hall.

Through original arrangements and a sound all its own, MUJERES reimagines the tango repertoire, breathing new life into centuries-old music and expanding its
expressive possibilities in the present.

A historical revival:

MUJERES is more than a music group: it is an artistic, political, and cultural project that aims to redress historical imbalances regarding the role of women in tango. The project offers an alternative narrative about who is creatively active, what stories are told, and whose voices make up the genre’s identity today.

The group consists exclusively of female composers, arrangers, and performers. Their repertoire spans more than a century of tango history and combines classic milonga pieces with new works that address contemporary issues such as gender-based violence, discrimination, femicide, resilience, and female empowerment.

A musical journey:

With three critically acclaimed albums and an instrumental EP, MUJERES has established itself as one of the most unique projects in contemporary tango and captivates audiences both at home and abroad. MUJERES’ music is available on major digital platforms and blends the tradition of tango with a contemporary sensibility, creating a sound that is uniquely their own—modern and deeply emotional.

A global impact:

Throughout their career, MUJERES has performed on some of Buenos Aires’ most prestigious stages, including the CCK, the Bebop Club, the Teatro Picadero, the Teatro 25 de Mayo, the Centro Cultural de Munro, and the historic Salón Canning, and has participated in festivals such as the Festival Transfeminista, Mujercitas, Garufa, and the Festival de la Fe y la Historia.

Their international reputation has led to their inclusion in prestigious cultural events such as the Bardentreffen World Music Festival 2025, the Hamburg Winter Festival, and the Festival Otoño Tanguero in France, as well as performances at renowned milongas in Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and Italy.

In August 2026, they will embark on their third European tour, invited by festivals in Berlin and Tarbes, and will visit various cities in Germany, Switzerland, and France.

Camila Arriva:

She holds a bachelor’s degree in musicology with a focus on voice and a diploma in tango from the Universidad Nacional de las Artes.
She leads the group named after her, with which she produces “MUJERES,” a women’s quintet with a repertoire consisting exclusively of works by classical and modern female tango composers; this aims to redress historical injustices regarding the role of women in this genre.

In a more intimate setting, she is part of OVNI Tango, the Berlin-based guitar trio, as well as the duo with Lola Rosa in Buenos Aires, which is dedicated to the singer Nina Miranda.
She also performs at milongas and events with the same perspective that defines her MUJERES project: her tandas and cortinas are sung and/or composed entirely by women.
