Meet at the border 2026
In the organizer's words:
Where the Roman Empire once ended at the Limes, historically inspired tattoo art, dark folk, and traditional crafts come together today.
From October 2–4, 2026, Aalen will host “Meet Me At The Border,” a gathering for people with a passion for prehistory and early history up to the end of the first millennium—a place for meeting, exchange, and shared experiences.
Over 20 international tattoo artists will present historically inspired tattoos, ranging from Nordic, Celtic, and Slavic influences to archaeological designs and traditional hand-poke.
The tattoo convention will be complemented by lectures on archaeology, history, and ancient cultures.
On concert nights, some of the most exciting acts from the dark, Nordic, and neofolk scenes—including Nytt Land, Hindarfjäll, Nemuer, Noiduin, and Taranau —will take the stage.
The weekend is rounded out by a free area featuring historical crafts, select vendor booths, and food and drinks.
Once it separated empires, now it brings us together.
