In *Küss mich nur ganz kurz für immer* (Kiss Me Just Briefly, Forever), Max Richard Leßmann brings together his favorite love poems from nearly a decade of prolific poetic work.

Since 2017, the author has been posting a poem on Instagram every day, and love in all its forms has always been a central theme. In doing so, he finds clear words to express complex emotions. 

He evokes memories and longings, often in just a few lines. Leßmann has always valued the practical relevance of his texts; he sees himself in the tradition of Erich Kästner’s “everyday poetry,” but sometimes takes it a few steps further in keeping with the spirit of our times.

Time and again, he surprises us by putting into words what we’ve secretly been thinking ourselves for a long time. 

Or rather: what we feel. 

Leßmann’s love poems are clearly of today, yet they are full of disarming confessions that transcend time.

His first collection, “Love in the Age of Followers,” published by KiWi in 2019, was a Spiegel bestseller.
