Massa Dembele. DURCHLÜFTEN – 2026 Live Concerts & DJ Acts

Over four weekends this summer, the DURCHLÜFTEN music festival transforms the Schlüterhof at the Humboldt Forum into an open-air gathering place, with free admission, where musical traditions from around the world come to life and, through interaction with the audience, become living archives of culture.   

5 years open—5 years of DURCHLÜFTEN. The Schlüterhof at Berlin’s Humboldt Forum will once again become a vibrant open-air stage for global music, cultural exchange, and shared experiences. FromJuly 9 to August 1, 2026, the festivalwill present24 live acts and 12 DJs from around the world over four summer weekends. Each evening’s program features two concerts, followed by a DJ set. The result is twelve nights full of musical discoveries, movement, and encounters in the heart of Berlin—once again with free admission for everyone. 

Massa Dembele is a songwriter, griot, percussionist, and master of the Kamele N’goni, the West African “harp of youth.” Born in Nouna in western Burkina Faso into a family of griots—traditional storytellers and musicians—he began making music at an early age. He initially played improvised percussion with family members before learning instruments such as the djembe, balafon, and finally the kamele n’goni. He sings in Bambara and Dioula, Mandingo languages from West Africa, and his music carries on the griot storytelling tradition while also reflecting today’s journeys across borders. Massa now divides his time between Hamburg and Konstanz, creating a dialogue between West African musical traditions and global sounds. His third album, “Falatô,” recorded in Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, and released in April 2026 via Not OK Records, blends Afrobeat, desert blues, jazz, and West African soul. This album tells the story of migration and the search for belonging, as Massa Dembele transforms personal experiences into powerful musical storytelling.
