Homage to Marilyn Monroe

To mark the 60th anniversary of the death of Marilyn Monroe - actress, singer, sex symbol, icon, myth and human being - on August 5, 2022, singer and drummer Jutta Werbelow, bassist Gigu Neutsch and pianist & accordionist Markus Schramhauser (the 2 Daddies) have created a sophisticated, surprising and very entertaining program.

"Marilyn's calling" is NOT a double show! "Marilyn's calling" is a homage, a wonderful musical and human collaboration and above all a tribute to the singer, artist - and of course blonde - Marilyn Monroe.

To this end, they have condensed the great, elaborate arrangements of the songs from Monroe's films and tailored them to their trio - into charming, slender and freshly refined song gems. In addition to songs such as (of course) "I wanna be loved by you", "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" and "River of no return", they also play the first songs by the starlet, who was still unknown at the beginning, as well as pieces about Marilyn by stars from Elton John to Madonna.

Thematically, the songs are framed and put into context by texts, stories and interviews about and by Marilyn Monroe herself. But above all, the three artists use the songs to bring the charisma and extraordinary talent of the singer and actress to life and, with the "complete package", take a critical and very entertaining look at her influence and impact as a sex symbol and the most famous blonde in the world - and take the audience on a musical journey.
