Marlon Brand – Und jetzt queer!
Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.
In the organizer's words:
Reading opens up the world to us. Through good stories, we learn about ourselves and the diverse forms of life. Literature can be a refuge, an open question, a space of possibility beyond our own everyday lives. So why does the classical canon still show us only a small part of the world? Why are we often taught in school and in the arts and culture sections of newspapers a norm that exists neither in the world nor in literature? Why is the diversity of queer identities and lived experiences so underrepresented in the perception of literature? Bianca Braunshofer, Marlon Brand, and Tobi Schiller have been grappling with these questions for a long time. In their book, they take an in-depth look at queer literature and demonstrate that it has always been part of literary history.
Marlon Brand studied comparative literature in Bochum. Since 2017, he has been writing about queer literature under the handle @booksaregayasfuck, and since 2021, he has been co-editing the newsletter magazine “Queerer Kanon?” with Tobi Schiller.
