This evening, we welcomeHenning Ahrensto studio pompette. With language that is at once clear and shifted, Ahrens feels his way through the present and memory—always searching for a place in between. His poems take a close look: at the heat of the big city and garden fences, at family histories and digital realities, at everything that surrounds us and sometimes remains a little foreign to us.lyrik pompette

The focus is on his new collection*Inventory of a Dinosaur*: a kind of poetic inventory that moves through external landscapes and inner spaces. Amid pipes, streetcars, and old houses, amid inherited memories and very present questions, a quiet, often surprisingly tender dialogue with the world—and with himself—emerges. Sometimes matter-of-fact, sometimes self-deprecating, sometimes almost ethereal, Ahrens weaves his observations into something that’s hard to pin down—but lingers long in the memory.
