NIGHT JEWEL – Book 1: Are you strong enough for your magic?
Gemstones symbolize power and magic—and Jade possesses the most dangerous kind of all. Rare, unpredictable, and strictly forbidden. For her, survival means hiding who she really is. Until Henry Thorne returns. Her brother’s long-lost friend is no longer the boy Jade once knew. He’s darker, stronger… and more alluring. And the way he looks at her leaves her barely able to breathe. As he helps her gain control over her forbidden magic, Jade feels for the first time that her life might finally belong to her. But in a city built on glamour and prestige, closeness and trust come at a high price. And some secrets can tear entire worlds apart.

Eléna Zay first studied in Düsseldorf and Nantes, then pursued creative writing in Hildesheim and completed an internship as a journalist. Today she lives with her family in Cologne.
In her books, Eléna aims to take her readers on adventures—journeys through multi-layered worlds and compelling stories that draw them in, bringing them up close to the characters.
Eléna’s work has already earned her a spot on the shortlist for the Phantastik Authors’ Network (PAN) scholarship.
On the literary podcast “LieblingsLIT,” Eléna Zay and book blogger Linda König discuss life in the literary world, books, and all kinds of book gossip, and regularly invite other writers and literary professionals for interviews.
On September 3, 2026, they’ll discuss Eléna’s debut together and celebrate the book launch at manulit.
