Lera Auerbach: 72 Angels – Chorwerk Ruhr | Chor trifft Saxofonquartett
In the organizer's words:
Chorwerk Ruhr and the Raschèr Saxophone Quartet turn their gaze toward the heavens with Lera Auerbach’s composition “72 Angels.” Auerbach has created a non-denominational soundscape that translates 72 angel names into music and connects the traditions of various cultures—whether Abrahamic religions, Hindu devas, or Zoroastrian yazatas—through the motif of angels. With its floating, often archaic-sounding textures, the work captivates the listener.
Performers:
Raschèr Saxophone Quartet
Christine Rall, soprano saxophone
Ladislav Fanzowitz, alto saxophone
Andreas van Zoelen, tenor saxophone
Oscar Trompenaars, baritone saxophone
