Labasheeda

Labasheedais an extraordinaryrock trio from Amsterdam known for its high-energy and rousing live shows. The band’s music ranges from minimalist, catchy melodies to powerful outbursts: at times, sweeping bass lines and driving rhythms carry the songs; at others, intense, anthemic walls of guitar unfold, full of dynamism and tension.

The band owes its distinctive sound to the unconventional use of the violin, the constantly surprising tempo changes, and, not least, the striking voice ofSaskia van der Giessen. With their sixth studio album,*Blueprints*, released in November 2023, Labasheeda reached another artistic high point. The international music press hailed the album as an innovative post-punk masterpiece.

The current lineup includes: Arne Wolfswinkel (guitar, bass), Saskia van der Giessen (vocals, guitar, violin), and George Hadow (drums).
