When you step into the Augustin restaurant on Dagobertstraße, you’re not just entering a restaurant. You’re stepping into a piece of Cologne’s city history. The building in the Kunibertsviertel was built in 1904 as the Kolpinghaus and originally served as lodging, a shelter, and a community space for young journeymen.

Later, the building underwent a transformation. Starting in 1997, the former Kolping House was used as a hotel; today, it is home to the Classik Hotel Antonius. Many historical elements have been preserved and continue to shape the building’s unique atmosphere: high ceilings, spacious rooms, arched windows, wooden details, and the sheltered inner courtyard.
