Kiezführung Berlins neue Mitte 19.Juli 14.00 Uhr
In the organizer's words:
Dive into the fascinating history of my neighborhood—as told by someone who grew up here!
I’m Markus Wiehler, a native Berliner (born in 1968), and I’ll take you on a unique journey through time to the new heart of our city.
🚶♂️ What to Expect
• The Tacheles & the Friedrichstraße Passage
From its inception in 1908 as one of the world’s most modern arcade-style department stores, through turbulent times during the German Empire, the iconic years after the fall of the Berlin Wall—all the way to today’s Fotografiska.
•The Forum on Museum Island
Stories about the telegraph office, the postal office, the telephone exchange, and the Gropius Ensemble—a true highlight, both architecturally and historically.
🎥 Exclusive photos and videos, my personal memories, and fascinating anecdotes make this tour an experience you won’t find in any travel guide.
🍻 A Relaxing Way to End the Day
After the tour, I invite you to join me in wrapping up the day together at the new beer garden at the Dieselhaus. Here, you can ask questions or simply continue the conversation.
