Kammerchor Vokalkunst – (Un)Holde

Chamber Choir Vokalkunst - (Un)Holde

For its program "(Un)Holde", the Kammerchor Vokalkunst under the direction of Daniel Radde has chosen two particularly exclusive performance venues. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the new contemporary narrative pieces will be performed in the secluded Ammerhof Chapel, and a month later in the summer refectory of Bebenhausen Monastery.

In the hidden corners of an old farmhouse, somewhere between the rafters and collective memory, lives a little fellow called Niss Puk. He measures just under four inches tall, wears a grass-green jacket and a red pointed cap - an appearance that is deceptive. Because behind the brownie's appearance lies a deeply ambivalent nature. Anyone who serves him sweet porridge with plenty of butter can rely on a faithful guardian of house and home. But woe betide anyone who forgets him! Then the ogre in him awakens. Even a move does not bring salvation. The Puk simply moves along.

The Christ Child in the forest is quite different: a red, frozen nose, a little hat full of snow, a heavy sack that smells promisingly of apples and nuts. No mischievous spirit seems to be lurking here ...

But the world of fairy tales, fables and legends knows no reliable unambiguity. Its inhabitants change sides: Protectors become seducers, the familiar turns threatening. Nine contemporary narrative compositions question the nature of the (un)holde. The answer remains vague - like the characters themselves.
