Freddie Mercury - grandiose "Queen" frontman, master of extravagance, brilliant songwriter, sex symbol for men and women. There is no doubt that Freddie was one of the greats. Even more than thirty years after his death, this exceptional artist, who was both a glamorous diva and a fragile artistic soul, still fascinates in a unique way.

In their program, singer Artur Molin and musician Michael Lohmann provide an insight into the private and love life of Freddie Mercury. They have created their very own, intimate and touching interpretations of the songs that achieved world fame. With a sensitive mixture of music and storytelling, they paint a vivid portrait of the singer that sheds light on his complexity. In addition to well-known hits, less popular material is also presented. The Molin/Lohmann duo's program is a tribute to the artist and an invitation to be inspired by his immortal legacy.

Artur Molin (*1977 in Chorzów, Germany) is a German musical performer, singer and actor. After attending the Conservatory of Music in Diez and studying sports science and English, he trained as a stage actor at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

His career began with engagements in musicals such as West Side Story (role: Tony) in Bolzano, 3 Musketeers and the German premiere of Wicked - The Witches of Oz in Stuttgart. In 2010, Molin performed as a solo singer at the opening ceremony of RUHR.2010 before turning increasingly to acting. He performed at the Volkstheater Frankfurt (Kleiner Mann, was nun?) and in Irrungen, Wirrungen at the Katakombe Frankfurt.

Molin was a member of the permanent ensemble at the Hessisches Landestheater Marburg. There he was convincing in roles such as Elwood Blues in The Blues Brothers, the Prince in Cinderella - A Rock'n'Roll Fairytale and Frank'N'Furter in The Rocky Horror Show. With the program In love with Freddie Mercury, he developed his own show in which he interprets the life and music of the Queen frontman as Jim Hutton.

Michael Lohmann was born in 1981 and studied theater studies and musicology with distinction at the University of Leipzig. He works as a theater maker, composer, music producer, guitarist, vocal coach and musical director mainly at the interface of theater and music. His compositions, arrangements and music productions have been performed at numerous German city theaters since 2010, such as Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Freiburg, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Schauspiel Dortmund and Staatstheater Saarbrücken.

Michael Lohmann worked for 8 years as musical director at the Landestheater Marburg, where he also successfully realized large-scale musical theatre productions such as "Die Dreigroschenoper" or "Monty Python's Spamalot". In recent years, he has expanded his field of work in the areas of surround sound ("Der Struwwelpeter", directed by Katharina Birch, Schauspielhaus Bochum, 2023) and binaural immersion ("The Future", directed by Annette Müller, KJT Dortmund, 2022). Most recently, he composed the hip hop opera "MC Messer" (2024, director: Neco Celic) with the international Urban Arts Ensemble Ruhr, for which he also performs on stage as musical director and guitarist.
