House of Namus // Gazino Night Winter Edition
In the organizer's words:
Gazino Nights—these are glamorous evenings of entertainment with a long tradition in Istanbul and Berlin from the 1960s through the 1990s. A touch nostalgic, but by no means outdated! House of Namus brings this iconic format to life and reimagines it: music, dance, belly dancing, drag, theater, and storytelling merge into a performative production that tells queer and women’s stories—about identity, freedom, and self-determination.
Glamour meets finger food: the audience and performers mingle, creating a special atmosphere with plenty of space for connection and intimacy, warmth, and shared experiences.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a community gathering in collaboration with the Turkish Film Days Dortmund. Starting at 8 p.m., the stage program kicks off with live singing, dance, drag, music, comedy, stand-up, and readings by local artists and international guests.
A special highlight: We’re expanding the event into a mini-festival with Queer Slam. On Friday, December 4, House of Namus will bring its own acts as guests to Queer Slam, while on Saturday, Queer Slam artists will be part of Gazino Night. A whole weekend full of diversity and artistic energy.
House of Namus
… reinterprets the term “Namus”—traditionally associated with honor and pride—and reclaims it as a symbol of freedom, self-determination, and collective strength. House of Namus creates spaces where people can freely express themselves, embrace their identities, and celebrate together—openly, diversely, and without restrictions.
