Hombroich : Wandelkonzert
In the organizer's words:
On July 19, the first-ever “Hombroich: Wandelkonzert” will take place at the Museum Insel Hombroich in cooperation with the neighboring conservatories in Düsseldorf and Cologne. Seven of the walk-through sculptures designed by sculptor Erwin Heerich and scattered along the banks of the Erft River will serve as venues for a diverse and entertaining program from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The music ranges from Bach, Schubert, Brahms, and Poulenc to Kurtág, Berio, and Ligeti; from classical to live electronics; and from solo violin and flute to piano trio and string quartet, all the way to a trombone ensemble and a polyphonic choir performing Romantic choral music. In addition, there will be performance and dance pieces as well as experimental interventions, some of which were developed specifically for the respective exhibition buildings. Classical music, too, will sound unusually different in these spaces simply because of their unique architecture and acoustics. Each program lasts 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute intermission. The audience is free to move from venue to venue throughout the museum, following their own interests. Those who need a break will find seating in the cafeteria throughout the day, as well as a simple buffet with food and drinks.
There is no additional cost for visitors to attend the program; it is already included in the admission price. Please note that most pavilions do not have seating. Tickets can be booked in advance at the shop. The program will be available here shortly.
