Freie Klassik Niedersachsen - hell:"wach handelt" – August 29, 2026, as part of “Summer in the Cultural Triangle” in cooperation with the State Capital of Hanover and Musikland Niedersachsen Since 2021, the Landesverband Freie Klassik Niedersachsen e.V. has been organizing the concert marathon “hell:wach once a year at various venues throughout Lower Saxony. At this event, professional and emerging ensembles from Lower Saxony’s independent classical music scene present short performances featuring diverse lineups and a contrasting stylistic repertoire—ranging from early to contemporary music, from “classical” works to genre-blending pieces, new compositions, and original arrangements. It also offers an opportunity for casual exchange and networking. hell:wach26 will take place on August 29 in cooperation with Musikland Niedersachsen and the state capital of Hanover at the Kulturdreieck. Under the motto “hell:wach takes action,” concerts will be held throughout the day at selected retail locations during “Summer at the Kulturdreieck.” Venues such as P&T, Hotel Motel One Hannover-Oper, Galeria Kaufhof, and Kreipes CoffeTime—which have showcased independent dance and literature from Hannover during “Summer in the Kulturdreieck” in recent years—will now become extraordinary venues for music. Musical program partners include LAG Jazz and HMTM Hannover. For the official welcome at “five to twelve,” hell:wach will be a guest in the “open foyer” of the Hanover State Opera. Parallel to the concert program, the hell:wach forum—organized by Musikland Niedersachsen—will take place on Opernplatz. The hell:wach forum is aimed both at professional musicians and event organizers—who can take advantage of funding consultations on-site, among other services—as well as the general public. From a audience survey to an exhibition featuring ensembles from Lower Saxony, interested visitors can exchange ideas and learn about the diversity of the independent music scene. Together with the cross-ensemble pop-up orchestra, hell:wach will conclude the evening on Opernplatz. Free admission is available for all concerts.
