Gankino Circus earned standing ovations at the Pantheon Theater in 2026—and in 2027, they’re back with their new show: a glamorous Saturday night spectacle with a touch of small-town madness! The musical high-wire artists, familiar from radio and television, present a rock ’n’ roll spectacle that’s as wild as it is masterful, complete with unbridled dialect pop. But unlike their competitors on local TV, everything at Gankino Circus is live: no lip-syncing, no hidden trapdoors—just groundbreaking musicality and spontaneous entertainment!

In 2007, the four childhood friends from Dietenhofen in Franconia set out to gleefully tear down all musical barriers and tedious stylistic rules. Today, the troupe hovers somewhere between musical cabaret and a party demolition squad. So is the tongue-in-cheek title of their latest stroke of genius really indicative of what’s to come? One might doubt it.

Now performing on major stages, the four globetrotters from East-West Central Franconia know the turmoil that arises when you’re suddenly catapulted back into the sleepy village idyll of your own youth and confronted there with the very opposite of rock ’n’ roll. Time and again, these well-traveled, exceptional artists are drawn back to their roots: to Dietenhofen Rock City, where the bus stops only twice a day and love is still measured in hectares, where summer smells like Spezi, and the four friends feel like aliens—even though it’s their home. These masterful musicians, eccentric characters, and gifted storytellers recount all of this in their new program, just as they offer quirky insights into the world of cabaret showbiz. So it’s going to be offbeat, thought-provoking, and very, very funny once again...
