The workshop focuses on the art of “folding” as an act of layering and enclosing. As an example of traditional Arabic cuisine, we’ll explore dolma and learn more about the folding techniques and ingredients that go into this delicious dish, while also reflecting on its connection to the film program the following day. We draw a parallel between this culinary gesture and cinematic practice, in which films—like plants, boats, or objects—carry stories, hidden meanings, and messages across borders.

This workshop complements the short film program FOOD & FOOTAGE: A Triangular Liquid City, Where Bodies and Spices Circulate on July 15, 2026.

All dishes prepared are vegan. The workshop will be held in English; translation into German and Arabic is available.
