In his new essay, Berlin-based author Evan Hugo Tepest focuses on a subject that is as charged as it is contradictory: the penis. At 30, he begins his transition and the search for a new masculinity - and talks to people with and without penises. It's about fears and power, about bodies and projections, about sexuality, size and fantasies. In SIND PENISSE REAL?, sexual desire poetically meets the narrowness of current norms, literature and theory meet faith, the feeling subject meets patriarchy and centuries-old gender concepts meet radical openness.
