EVA KARL FALTERMEIER | »Ding Dong« | HAMBURG
In the organizer's words:
Eva Karl Faltermeier is known for her sharp wit and her inimitable style, with which she captivates audiences in Bavaria and throughout Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. In her third stage show, “Ding Dong,” she remains true to her style as she shares her sociopolitical observations with her audience. The inspiration for this often comes from her background and the pranks life plays on her—they’re perfect for drawing broader conclusions from the small details.
Once again, her stage persona faces the multiple challenges of everyday life, caught between unattainable social norms and cultural
rootedness—an emotional tug-of-war that can provoke a sense of powerlessness. This powerlessness is shared by many. And to free herself from it, Eva Karl Faltermeier crafts stories with humor. Her great art lies in presenting quirks and the most serious topics with a wink. Laughter as a coping strategy—about time, upheavals, and goals; what one misses, what one has, and where one is headed. In the end, what remains is the confidence that everything is somehow possible. Nobody ever said it would be perfect.
In recent years, Eva Karl Faltermeier has quickly made a name for herself on the scene, receiving and presenting awards, and appearing on and hosting television shows. But the heart of her artistic work remains her live performances, when she performs for her audience with passion and dedication. She’s an artist you can’t help but love—from a safe distance, of course.
“I want people to laugh, reflect, and feel comfortable at the same time,” says Eva. “For me, cabaret is a way to reflect on the world a little bit and, in the process, make people smile—even at themselves and, above all, at my mistakes.”
