ENGIN (Anatolian Rock & Indie Pop)
ENGIN is back—the German-Turkish indie phenomenon released its new album “Sag Mir Almanya” in March and is now bringing its unmistakable sound—a blend of driving rhythms, Anatolian psychedelic vibes, and German indie—to stages across Europe. And right here in Oldenburg, too!
With their multilingual songs, the band builds bridges, connects people, and gets everyone dancing—whether in Berlin, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Vienna, or Erfurt. No wonder Jan Böhmermann recently invited them to appear on ZDF’s *Magazin Royal*.
Live, ENGIN unleash their full power: a rousing performance that evokes the raw joy of playing and originality of great acts from the ’70s, while exuding a fresh, contemporary vibe and conveying a clear message. Their sound effortlessly bridges the gap between nostalgia and the present, creating space for connection, energy, and community.
False Lefty (Indie Rock)
Veva (AT) on drums and Thomas (GB) on guitar—that’s FALSE LEFTY. Stripped down to the bare essentials—what at first glance might seem like a hackneyed advertising slogan is actually their credo. Three drums and a guitar with just three strings shape their sound.
As much as the setup might evoke memories of the White Stripes, their music does not. FALSE LEFTY’s unique style moves between alternative rock, indie, and post-punk, with a strong rhythmic focus and skillful songwriting. Sometimes even fragile and almost delicate, but always powerful, rhythmic, and unmistakable.
Not least through their music, the band creates a unique atmosphere that captivates their audience. They also represent a new era of punk culture, because you can’t help but wonder what lies behind the unusual band name. Converted left-handers or fake lefties? FALSE LEFTY stands for a clear stance and a working-class ethos: more solidarity and less “us against them” mentality. Or, to put it another way: “I’d rather be a false lefty than no lefty at all.”
Sultry Cat (Glam Rock)
Sultry Cat is the hard rock/glam project led by singer and lead guitarist Manu. With wild riffs, rousing guitar solos, and a mix of raw energy and sensuality, the band delivers songs for loud stages and unforgettable shows.
