Elliott Erwitt: „People, Places, Moments“

The Leica Gallery Heidelberg presents the exhibition “Elliott Erwitt: People, Places, Moments,” featuring photographs by one of the most significant photographers of the 20th century. The works on display come from the Leica Archive’s “Personal Best for Leica” collection and bring together images spanning nearly six decades—from 1946 to 2003—offering a comprehensive insight into the extraordinary body of work by the legendary Magnum photographer.

The exhibition in Heidelberg traces a photographic journey across continents and decades. From postwar New York and Paris to the streets of Barcelona and the landscapes of Wyoming, and on to Kyoto and Rio de Janeiro, Erwitt’s photographs offer a multifaceted view of people, places, and ways of life. Famous images, such as Jacqueline Kennedy at John F. Kennedy’s funeral, are displayed alongside poetic, humorous, and often surprising observations of everyday life.
