“Her bright timbre has something heavenly about it,” wrote the Hamburger Abendblatt about soprano Elionor Martínez. Her performance is so compelling and her coloratura so effortless that even early music luminary Jordi Savall was eager to collaborate with her. At the Elbphilharmonie, she will sing arias by composers including Claudio Monteverdi, Henry Purcell, and George Frideric Handel. In addition to these undisputed giants of the Baroque era, Martínez also champions the now largely forgotten female composers Barbara Strozzi and Francesca Caccino, who were not only highly regarded as singers but also caused a sensation with their compositions.
