Snow researcher Atti Olson is on an expedition to collect new snow samples. She excitedly shows the audience her snowflake collection. Then she discovers a tiny reindeer in her snowflake magnifying device. She realizes this reindeer must have fallen out of her book. Ms. Olson opens her big book, and a vast, rolling snowy landscape unfolds. Just then, the reindeer—named Ralf Rüdiger—appears. Back inside the book, we see Ralf Rüdiger wandering through the snowy landscape on his quest for Christmas.
The snow falls softly, drawing us into the silence and tranquility of a pre-Christmas winter evening. With only three days left, Ralf Rüdiger still doesn’t know what this Christmas is all about.
With every new page of the book, a new scene unfolds. We accompany Ralf Rüdiger through the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle of the big city and to the peaceful cabin of Regina, the reindeer lady.
