"Du bist mir der kostbarste Mensch" Ingeborg Bachmann und Hans Werner Henze in Briefen
In the organizer's words:
"A person with grace and charm, as if born of the nightingale. During the first coffee break, I asked her whether she also wrote or whether, like me, she was only present as an observer? No, she does write, she said, and mainly "Heimatromane" - this is how the young, promising composer Hans Werner Henze characterized the equally young, promising author Ingeborg Bachmann. Both, whose 100th birthday is being celebrated this summer, met at a meeting of Gruppe 47 in 1952. Both were at the beginning of their careers. A deep friendship quickly developed, which not only led to a literary and musical collaboration, but also resulted in a moving exchange of letters.
The author Birgit Müller-Wieland and the composer Jan Müller-Wieland, whose work is connected to Ingeborg Bachmann and Hans Werner Henze in many ways, will reverberate the dialog between the poet and the composer on this evening.
