17-year-old Fatima is the youngest daughter. She lives with her sisters in a Paris suburb in a cheerful and loving family. A good student, she enrols at a Parisian university to study philosophy and discovers a whole new world. At the beginning of her life as a young woman, she emancipates herself from her family and their traditions. Fatima begins to question her identity. How can she reconcile her faith with her burgeoning desires?
Based on the autobiographical novel of the same name by Fatima Daas, acclaimed director Hafsia Herzi tells the story of 17-year-old Fatima, who has to find her place in the world between the conflicting priorities of her Islamic faith and the discovery of her own homosexuality, in a sensitive and powerful way.
