DFD Festival 2026: Costume Couture - Düsseldorf Fashion Days im Filmmuseum mit der Freifrau von Kö

Located in the heart of Düsseldorf’s Old Town, the Film Museum is an interactive museum that offers an exciting introduction to the world of film, from its beginnings to the present day. The permanent exhibition covers 2,200 square meters of film history. Schools and other educational institutions also participate in the film education programs, guided tours, and seminars, which are open to the public. The Filmmuseum develops and presents regular special exhibitions, and its in-house cinema, the Black Box, screens selected film series and film classics daily.

Düsseldorf Fashion Days goes Film! Fashion creations can also be discovered at the Film Museum—in the costume design of a film as applied art that bridges fashion and clothing, and often as a defining element of a character’s role. A new exhibition area is dedicated to costumes, props, and makeup and hair as artistic design elements. New exhibits from the collection are also on display, and at a new interactive station, visitors can examine three very special costumes up close
and creatively customized. To celebrate the DFD, Baroness von Kö will personally guide you through a brief history of costume design in film!
