"De loin si près" - Cie Vilcanota | Deutschlandpremiere
In the organizer's words:
Making its German stage debut: the powerful dance theater piece *De loin si près*by theFrench company Vilcanota.
At the renowned 2025 Festival d’Avignon,*De loin si près*was hailedasone of the most surprising highlights.
Eight dancers create a microcosm of society—a collective that constantly reshapes itself between closeness and distance, individuality and community. French choreographer Bruno Pradet combines contemporary dance, hip-hop, and krump with an extraordinary soundscape of Baroque vocals, traditional music, beatboxing, and electronic sounds to create a highly physical, captivating journey from individual isolation to collective dynamism.
In the process, swaths of fabric and textiles become a living element of the stage: they separate and connect, organize and dissolve again, until a shared rhythm emerges from individual gestures and bodies. Inspired by the outsider art discovered during the lockdown,*De loin si près*unfolds striking images that oscillate between ecstasy and vulnerability, chaos and harmony—a choreographic reflection on cohesion, resilience, and the power of the collective.
An event presented by Walder Theatertage e.V. and the Theater und Konzerthaus Solingen.
