Day We Ran

Day We Ran’s music feels much like the sun slowly setting after a long summer day at the beach: it evokes warm feelings of gratitude and vitality, along with a touch of melancholy that this moment cannot last forever. The band from Lennox Head, Australia, consists of the three Lough brothers and their longtime friend Tane Cullen. Day We Ran achieved their major international breakthrough with their debut single, “Foaming.” The track, which first introduced their guitar-driven alternative rock sound with distinctive three-part harmonies, was immediately included on the soundtrack of the hit Netflix series “Outer Banks” and has now been streamed over 30 million times. In the years that followed, the guys released more songs that blend genres ranging from guitar-driven indie rock to sun-kissed surf rock and atmospheric alternative sounds. But in keeping with their sound, the four musicians—despite a strong start to their promising career—remain unfazed by the hype and release new songs at a leisurely pace, further solidifying their distinctive sound. EPs or even an album have yet to materialize, as their focus has been on extensive tours and support slots. Day We Ran have already toured with acts like Sam Fender and The Kooks, where they were able to prove just how well their emotionally charged indie sound translates to the big stage. This year, too, is all about international shows: The band will play at many renowned festivals, such as Lollapalooza in the U.S. and Reading/Leeds in the UK. Afterward, they’ll also come to Germany for concerts. And that’s not all: In July of this year, Day We Ran will release their debut EP, “Naked At Your Door,” which they’ll showcase on stages across Germany during their subsequent European tour in September. They’ll be stopping in Rees-Haldern, Cologne, Berlin, Darmstadt, and at the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg.
