Freiburg classroom theater is a relatively young genre to which more and more authors are devoting themselves. The strengths of the classroom theater genre lie in the closeness of the play to the audience and the authenticity it conveys. In this way, thought and reflection processes are set in motion in a special way. Additional aesthetic means such as stage design and lighting are completely absent. Nevertheless, the theater experience is intense and expressive in play, language and images.

For the audience, reality and fictional plot cannot always be clearly distinguished, which leads to a high level of attention and an in-depth examination of the subject matter and the character being played. The theater literally gets up close and personal with the audience, turning spectators into co-actors who always remain spectators. Instead of presenting a simplified solution to complex issues, it encourages reflection, deepens awareness of the selected topics and can have a positive effect on the social climate within the group and beyond.

After each performance, the Freiburg Classroom Theater offers a one-hour follow-up discussion in which questions about the play can be discussed.

The Freiburger Klassenzimmertheater wants to perform plays that work without the "pedagogical finger pointing", that are not instructive, but rather plays that make people think, plays that sensitize them to the respective topics.

Petty Einweg is the story of Petty, a plastic bottle whose multifaceted life is

life is portrayed in great detail. Petty is released into the world full of joyful expectations. However, she soon realizes that the life of a bottle is not as much fun as she had imagined. It has barely left the bottling plant when it is already empty and ends up in a landfill site and finally in the sea along with a few other everyday objects.

Petty's perspective opens up a whole new approach to the topic of plastic waste.
The play conveys facts about environmental pollution and the wasteful consumer landscape that should shake us and uses a rousing, humorous and sensitive story.

Ich Komma Saufen | 18:00 h

H. is sober. It wasn't always like this. When H. was young, he was an alcoholic, although he never saw it that way himself, but who does. H. was on the edge and many of his friends were already one step further. But now H. is sober and is sent around by the Ministry of Education to tell young people who are as old as he was then about the dangers of alcohol. But H. is not up for it. After all, he always had everything under control, most of the time. And bad things do happen. But the more we learn about H's life, the clearer it becomes: It's not always
just fun in a glass.

"Ich Komma Saufen" is more than a character study of a young drinker and goes far beyond the usual appeals from teetotalers and know-it-alls. "Ich Komma Saufen" shows the truth without pointing a finger and leaves it up to the viewer to draw the consequences.

"My name is Sophie Scholl. And that's where the problem begins".
This is how the story of a normal law student begins. She is about to take her exams and is full of anticipation for her professional life. Her surname? Pure coincidence. This name tells the story of a young woman who, during the Nazi era, had the courage to stand up to Adolf Hitler with her friends and her brother. The courage of her famous namesake now becomes a touchstone for the young law student's conscience: she becomes involved in an examination fraud and is asked to testify in court. She has to make a decision: Should she lie to advance her career? Should she tell the truth but risk her future? Or would it perhaps be best to remain silent?
