Buchpremiere "Raus bist du noch lange nicht" von Julia Rothenburg
In the organizer's words:
Reading and discussion of "Raus bist du noch lange nicht" by Julia Rothenburg; the evening will be moderated by Nadya Reich-Hartmann.
Come celebrate with us as we kick off the first book launch after the summer break.
About the book:
Alice hasn’t been working as a preschool teacher in Berlin for very long, and she takes an instant liking to her colleague Christin. Dealing together with sticky hands, nervous parents, and children’s tears—it brings them closer together, faster and more intimately than Alice would like. She has to put a stop to this before it reopens old wounds—if it isn’t already too late. It hasn’t been long since the last time a friendship became too close for Alice. The move to Berlin, her first job at a daycare center, and the “coolest shared apartment ever” with Mo, Reike, and Yv. But what began as an intense friendship quickly escalated in the cramped four-room apartment with its wavy wallpaper.
About Julia Rothenburg:
Julia Rothenburg writes about friendships in a way you’ve rarely read before: brutally honest, openly vulnerable, and touching in a raw way. She explores how valuable, formative, and all-encompassing these bonds can be—but also how deep the wounds run when trust is betrayed.
Julia Rothenburg was born in Berlin in 1990. She studied sociology and political science in Freiburg and Berlin. For the manuscript of her debut novel *Koslik ist krank* (FVA 2017), she received the Retzhof Prize for Young Literature; for her second novel, *hell/dunkel* (FVA 2019), she received the Annual Literature Fellowship from the State of Baden-Württemberg. Her third novel, *Mond über Beton* (FVA 2021), was awarded the Bayern2 Wortspiele Prize and the Meissen Literature Festival Prize.
