In bleood’s world, nothing is as you’d expect. For the past three years, the 21-year-old rapper from the U.S. has been writing his own rules in the modern rap game—only to break them right back again. Amid distorted synthesizers, shrill sound effects, bedroom pop vibes, and layered rap and Auto-Tune vocals, bleood carves out a niche of his own, drawing on numerous rap subgenres and enriching them with diverse influences. Visually, bleood creates a world that straddles slasher aesthetics, ironic meme collages, LSD-trip visuals, and an unmistakable fondness for seals—perfectly showcasing his multifaceted sound. Following a spontaneous show at Berlin’s Mikropol in April 2026 and the surprise release of his latest album , “PROTAGONIST,” the rapper will be coming to Cologne, Zurich, Munich, Vienna, Hamburg, and Berlin in early fall as part of his Kill Your Idols Europe Tour.
Behind bleood is Jamari Spencer, who began his career at the age of 14. Back then, he was still performing under his alias m4ri, experimenting with cloud rap and 2k13 hood EDM, and joining collectives like Scarlet and Infrared. Ultimately, it was his connection with xaviersobased and his collective 1c that gave him the biggest boost in identifying his own sound. After founding his own collective, #back, Spencer started fresh in 2023 under the name deffici1e with the EP “seal of memories,” only to settle on his current stage name, bleood, shortly thereafter. While he initially explored genres like hyper-pop and cloud rap at the start of his career, his sonic experiments on his debut mixtape “pain” led to influences from hardstyle, rap, and dance music. But bleood wouldn’t be bleood if he hadn’t already taken a new approach on his next mixtape. With a focus on trap, digicore, and rage rap, his next mixtape , “rascal 51,” had audibly edgier tones. On May 14 of this year, bleood released his new album “PROTAGONIST” and continued to break with conventional norms. On the album, which was released alongside a multifaceted visualizer, the experimental artist takes a sweeping look at everything that has defined his career so far. However, bleood comes across as a touch more accessible than before, which is primarily reflected in clearer structures and catchy melodies, as the song “codeine tears” demonstrates .
