Best of Poetry Slam

When the sun disappears behind the treetops, the grass rustles beneath your flip-flops, and the ice cubes clink in your cup—and it’s truly summer in Winterhude—that’s when it’s time for “Best of Poetry Slam,” an open-air event in the city park. A wild and crazy open-air poetry slam gala featuring the very best poetry slammers in the country: Paulina Behrendt, Quichotte, Abdul Kader Chahin, Leah Weigand, and special guests Clara Lösel and Alex Stoldt. We’ll let a heatwave of words blow over our heads until our cheeks glow. Our walls will be rows of trees, our ceiling will be the sky, and our slam poetry will be the best slam poetry: Nothing but outstanding, super-talented performers with lyrics that pack a punch like Solero Shots, hosted by David Friedrich, the extremely charming emcee, and a funky DJ who hits the play button like a young god.
