The rulers of the planet Spaceball have idiotically squandered the valuable atmosphere around their star. Now they are hatching a secret plan to suck the breathable air from their peaceful neighbors on the planet Druidia. The cunning President Skroob (Mel Brooks) orders the flagship of his space fleet under the command of Lord Helmchen (Rick Moranis) to abduct the spoiled Princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga) from Druidia. However, he has not reckoned with space daredevil Lone Starr (Bill Pullman), nor with his co-pilot Waldi (John Candy), the Moter, nor with the honorary Druidess Dotty (Lorene Yarnell) or even the secret power of the "juice" ...

After comedy classics such as "The Wild, Wild West" and "Frankenstein Junior", director, producer and co-writer Mel Brooks has ventured into a galaxy far, far away. The comedy SPACEBALLS, which became a cult film, was one of the most successful films in Germany in 1987 with almost 1.2 million moviegoers and is still hugely popular today. Whether "Star Wars", "Starship Enterprise" or "Battlestar Galactica" - everything that calls itself science fiction or fantasy is pulled through the cocoa here. Brooks not only holds the laser sceptre in his hands behind the camera, but also in front of it and shines in a double role as Yogurt and President Skroob. He is supported by Rick Moranis ("The Little Shop of Horrors"), John Candy ("Alone with Uncle Buck"), Bill Pullman ("Independence Day") and Daphne Zuniga ("Melrose Place").
