In the organizer's words:
A Grassroots Baroque Spectacle
Six concertos for various instruments—what Johann Sebastian Bach brought together under this rather modest title is nothing less than a compendium of the Baroque instrumental concerto. Performing entirely without a conductor, the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra presents the complete cycle of the Brandenburg Concertos, giving it free rein to treat the Hamburg audience to a grassroots Baroque spectacle featuring ever-changing ensembles and unbridled virtuosity! Playful duets between solo horns and recorders—trios of oboes, violins, and violas in heated competition—brilliantly triumphant solos by trumpet and transverse flute—the collective energy of the grand tutti: All this and more awaits the audience in the Grand Hall of the Laeiszhalle!
