balkaNet Ming(R)a Sommer Lounge mit Tresmundo

Dear balkaNet members, 

Don’t know what to do with yourselves in this scorching heat? Still not sure where to go after your umpteenth dip in the Isar? In the mood for good music and cool people? Then come visit us at the balkaNet Ming(R)a Summer Lounge at Glockengrün on July 25 at the Glockenbachwerkstatt. 

Summer, music, and socializing: The Ming(R)a Lounge invites you back to Glockenparadies—featuring the band Tresmundo and a laid-back program for all ages.

Tresmundo—anyone who thinks the name might refer to three worlds coming together to make music will quickly realize that this German-Slovenian ensemble isn’t limited by its origins. Instrumental pieces, featuring the accordion, setar, dulcimer, and percussion, draw from the richness and breadth of a wide variety of cultural influences. For Tresmundo also embodies an intense way of living and experiencing life—with humor and wordplay, but also with reverie and depth. They sing in German and Bavarian, in Spanish, French, English, and in a way that everyone understands: without words.

When the weather is warm, we enjoy the beer garden together while children can let off steam with games, drawing, and water play.

The Ming(R)a Lounge—held roughly every fourth Saturday of the month—is a space for exchange, art, music, and collaborative creation. Come by and get involved!

Program

Starting at 4:00 p.m. – Beer garden open with table tennis, kids’ activities, and free play

7:00–9:00 p.m. – Tresmundo concert (outdoors if the weather permits)

9:30 p.m. – open end – Ming(R)a Vibes: balkaNet DJ Team

Admission to the beer garden is free. WE’LL PASS THE HAT FOR THE BAND—DONATIONS ARE WELCOME!

We want to create a space for cultural, intellectual, and active “togetherness.” Through our program and collaborations with various Munich-based organizations, initiatives, and venues, we aim to foster a post-migrant, cultural, and social connection between European cities, thereby reaching Munich residents of all ages as well as an audience interested in the arts and eager to experiment.
