Bal populaire

Once again this year, the Institut Français (IF) in Mannheim is hosting the “Bal populaire” on France’s National Day, July 14. 

A wide-ranging program for the whole family awaits visitors, featuring good food, information, and activities for children. There will be plenty of music, too—after all, it’s time to dance. 

The IF Mannheim is particularly looking forward to welcoming Mannheim’s Mayor Christian Specht, who will deliver a welcoming address on this festive occasion. 

Here’s what visitors can expect:

5:00 p.m. – Concert by the choir of the Pierre et Marie Curie French School in Heidelberg

5:30 p.m. – Concert by “Les enfants de la Bal”

5:30 p.m. – Live magic show with MysterFred

7:00 p.m. – Welcome address by Mayor Christian Specht

7:30 p.m. – Concert by “Les Frères Lapoisse”

You’ll also find delicious food and a selection of drinks at the Mannheim Wine Shop booth. And the “Coeurs” team will be preparing delicious tarte flambée on this day. Other vendors offering a variety of items will also be on site. Note: In case of extreme heat on this day—there will definitely be two first-aid attendants on hand, and shade umbrellas as well as a water dispenser will be set up.
