Aufstieg und Fall des Swimmingpools
In the organizer's words:
An audio walk about summer, longing, and status
notsopretty goes for a swim: Between the swimming pool, the sunbathing lawn, and outdoor pool fries, an audio walk about summer, longing, and social inequality unfolds under the open sky. The pool becomes the stage for a conflict: luxury meets scarcity, isolation meets community, abundance meets depletion.
A mix of humor, pop, and a chlorine-tinged indictment. The Rise and Fall of the Swimming Pool weaves nostalgic childhood memories with fantasies of having one’s own pool and asks who can afford relaxation and who is left high and dry.
Wearing headphones, you’ll take a walk through the outdoor pool. The event will take place even if it rains. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing. You can leave your swimwear at home.
In spoken German.
A project by notsopretty in co-production with Theater im Depot and PRT Bochum, and in cooperation with Revierpark Wischlingen
Funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of North Rhine-Westphalia as part of its conceptual development funding program, the City of Dortmund, and the City of Bochum.
