AUFNAHMEZUSTAND

As part of the 9th Hamburg Photography Triennial, participants will explore the urban surroundings of the Deichtorhallen—between Oberhafen, Speicherstadt, and the Old Town—together with photographer Susanne Dupont. Amid industrial architecture, bridges, bodies of water, and off-space venues, the city becomes a playground for photographic experimentation. In the workshop, photographic techniques such as focal length, aperture, and shutter speed are taught in a hands-on manner and tested directly on site. The focus is not only on technical fundamentals but also on developing one’s own photographic vision: How does light transform a place? Which perspectives tell a story? And how do individual motifs come together to form a photo series? Participants will deepen their photographic knowledge, experiment with urban structures, and develop their own visual language. The goal of the workshop is to create an individual photographic series. The workshop is aimed at those interested in photography who have basic knowledge. Susanne Dupont works as a photographer and art educator in Hamburg. In addition to her artistic and documentary practice, she carries out projects for numerous cultural institutions, museums, and magazines, and teaches photography in workshops and educational settings, including at the HfbK. Fee: 26 € plus admission. Please bring a camera or smartphone, weather-appropriate clothing, and your own snacks. Cameras can also be rented on site.
