On Both Sides of the Barricade.
Photography and War Reporting During the 1944 Warsaw Uprising
To mark the 82nd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, the Hamburg State Agency for Political Education and the German-Polish Society in Flensburg are presenting an updated version of this traveling exhibition, which was developed in collaboration with numerous partner institutions.
The exhibition commemorates the historical events of the 1944 Polish national uprising against the German occupiers and is dedicated to a critical examination of media coverage of the Warsaw Uprising in the German and Polish press of the time, with particular attention to the photographs created and used for this purpose.
