In the artist's words:

MARNELE does things differently. The newcomer from Bochum has decided that she doesn't have to choose - between punchlines and poetry, reflection and fighting spirit, melancholy and self-empowerment, unmistakable statements and metaphorically encrypted messages.

MARNELE music is timeless poetry expressed in contemporary rap vocals; it is a sharp, thoughtful, world-wearied, but sometimes also tongue-in-cheek look outwards and into the self; it is a little bit Ruhrpott and a little bit Paris.

MARNELE music mostly plays in darkened rooms and nocturnal settings, almost always enveloped by an abysmally calming text, sound and visual aesthetic. At the same time - despite all the comfyness - there is always an irrepressible energy that only rarely tips over into dreaminess; and a lyrical and vocal acuity bursting with urgency that casts a surreal spell.
